Description: According to the history muleteers who came from the mountainous region with their cattle, destined to the Port of Laguna, stayed overnight in a brickyard of Sangão where they made their food and used the fires to warm themselves. Nowadays ceramics are the basis of the city`s economy. Most of them are located on the BR101 highway and the annual production of bricks and tiles reaches 100 million units. Soil rich in clay favors such economic activity.
